MCP server
Pending delete domains, inside your AI assistant
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any app that speaks MCP (the Model Context Protocol) to PendingDelete.net, and ask for names the way you would ask a person. The assistant searches the domains in pending delete, and the ones dropped in the last 90 days, with every filter of our advanced search, and looks up any name on our lists.
Server address
https://mcp.pendingdelete.net/mcp
Remote MCP over Streamable HTTP. No account and no key. Read-only: it never registers, buys or changes anything.
Connect it
Claude
In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Name it PendingDelete.net, paste the address above and, if it asks how people sign in, choose No sign-in. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; on Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it for the organization first. Then turn it on for a chat from the + menu, under Connectors, and ask.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds MCP servers in developer mode, on the web, on the paid plans that have it: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then Create app. Give the address above with no authentication. In a chat, pick it from the + menu under Developer mode. OpenAI moves these menus from time to time; its help pages say where they are now.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http pendingdelete https://mcp.pendingdelete.net/mcp
Cursor
In ~/.cursor/mcp.json (every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):
{
"mcpServers": {
"pendingdelete": { "url": "https://mcp.pendingdelete.net/mcp" }
}
}
VS Code
In .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"pendingdelete": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.pendingdelete.net/mcp" }
}
}
Anything else
Add a remote (HTTP) MCP server with the address above and no authentication.
Ask it
- Which .com names drop tomorrow that are real words of eight letters or fewer?
- Find available .com names released this week with at least 10 linking domains.
- Find pending delete .com names first registered before 2005 with at least 10 linking domains, best Rank first.
- Show the .com names dropping today whose .net and .org are both registered.
- Two-syllable .com names ending in "host", no hyphens or numbers.
- When does example.com drop, and is that time confirmed?
Each answer links every name to its page here, and a search links its whole list on the site, with a CSV download.
The two tools
search_domains
Searches the names in pending delete — the last five days before a registry deletes a name and anyone can register
it — or, with status, the names released in the last 90 days: the ones nobody registered again
(available to anyone now) and the ones caught. The same filters as the advanced search's Filters, run by the same
code:
| Argument | On the site | What it does |
|---|---|---|
status | Drop Status | pending_delete (the default: names that drop within five days), available (released in the last 90 days and not registered again: anyone can register them now), caught (released in the last 90 days and registered again since) or released (still being checked). One at a time. |
keyword | Keyword | Text to find in the name before the dot — letters, digits and hyphens. |
match | How it matches | contains (the default), starts_with, ends_with, exact, or not_contains. |
regex | RegEx | A regular expression over the name before the dot, instead of a keyword — for example ^[a-z]{4}$ for four letters. |
exclude | Leave out names containing | Up to five words, such as shop and 247. |
letter_pattern | Letter pattern | C a consonant, V a vowel, L any letter, N a digit; lowercase letters stand for themselves. CVCV, LLLN, go-L. |
min_lengthmax_length | Character length | Characters before the dot, 1 to 25 (25 means 25 or more). |
hyphensnumbersidn | Hyphens, numbers, IDN | Set to false to leave out names with hyphens, with digits, or in other alphabets (xn--). |
extensions | TLD Matrix | The extensions to search, such as ["com"] or ["com", "net", "org"]. Left out: all 1,080 we track. |
adjoining_registered | Adjoining TLDs registered | Keep only names whose same name is registered right now in .com, .net or .org — say, the .com names whose .net and .org are both taken. |
drop_date_fromdrop_date_to | Specific date range | The day a name drops, or for a released name the day it was released: YYYY-MM-DD, yesterday, today or tomorrow, US Eastern. The same day in both for one day. |
confirmed_drop_times_only | Confirmed drop times only | Only names whose drop time is worked out from the registry's own record of when the name entered pending delete. |
registrars | Drop registrar | Up to ten registrars, written as the registry writes them (GoDaddy.com, LLC). |
registered_from_yearregistered_to_year | Registered since | The year the name was first registered, from 1985 to this year. |
min_linking_domains | Linking Domains | At least 1, 10, 100 or 1,000 other domains linking to the name. |
min_rank | Rank | A Rank of at least 1 to 5. |
real_words | Real words only | Names made of everyday English words — not people's names or places. |
mens_nameswomens_namessurnames | People's names | A man's or a woman's first name at the start (anna.com, annasmith.com), or a last name (smith.com, smithlaw.com). |
syllables | Syllables | 1, 2 or 3 (real words). |
sortorder | Sorting | drop_date (the default: the nearest drop first, or the newest release first), name, length, linking_domains, rank, registered or adjoining; asc or desc. |
limitpage | Paging | 100 names an answer unless limit asks for fewer; page for the next ones, through the first 10,000. |
An answer gives the total that match, the names on that page, a link to the same search on the site, and a CSV of the whole list (up to 100,000 names) for when it holds more than one answer can.
get_domain
Looks up one name on our lists: names in redemption, in pending delete, or released in the last 90 days. For any other name it says so, and gives the name's page, where a person can run a live registry lookup.
What an answer holds
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Status | Pending Delete, Redemption, Released — checking, Available or Caught, in the words our lists use, with what it means. |
| Drops | When the registry is due to delete the name, in US Eastern time and in UTC. .com and .net drop in Verisign's daily batch; most other registries release each name at its own time. |
| Released | For a name already gone: when it was released, in US Eastern time and in UTC. |
| Confirmed drop time | Yes when the time is worked out from the registry's own record of when the name entered pending delete; otherwise the time is estimated. |
| Length | Characters before the dot. |
| Registrar | The registrar the name was with, as the registry's record names it. |
| Registered | The day the name was first registered, from the registry's record. |
| Linking Domains | How many other websites (domains) link to the name in Common Crawl's web graph (Aug–Oct 2026). |
| Rank | Where the name stands among every domain in that graph, by Common Crawl's own harmonic-centrality ranking, as a score from 0 to 10 on a log scale: 10 × (1 − ln(place) ÷ ln(domains in the graph)). The best-connected domain is 10; place 1,000 of about 130 million is 6.3, place 1,000,000 is 2.6. A name nobody links to has neither figure. |
| Adjoining registered | Which of the same name's .com, .net and .org are registered now, from the day's zone files (for .com, .net and .org names). |
| Page | The name's page on PendingDelete.net, with its Wayback history and registry record. |
Linking Domains and Rank are not Moz DA, Ahrefs DR or Open PageRank: they are Common Crawl's own figures, the same ones our lists show.
Limits
- 100 names in an answer unless fewer are asked for; pages reach the first 10,000 names of a search.
- 30 tool calls a minute in one conversation.
- 120 a minute and 10,000 a day from one address.
- Over a limit, the assistant is told to wait a minute and try again.
Good to know
- The names are the ones that left their zone file and that each registry's own answer (RDAP) puts in redemption or pending delete. A name that is simply registered is never listed, and nameservers are never given.
- Times are the registry's, as we measure them: see drop times for each registry.
- The drop lists of the busiest extensions are also files: Free Datasets.
- Calls are logged to keep the server running well: our Privacy policy says what is kept and for how long.
- Questions or a problem: the contact form.
